You are here : Jallatte Innovation > The Progressive heel shock absorber
Its role, together with the Softane™ comfort layer, is to cushion your feet from the high intensity shocks and vibrations when your foot impacts the ground, which can cause microtraumatic injuries. It is located in the heel area of Softane™, J-Escape™ and Lightane™ outsoles (heavy duty boots, sports and city shoes).
Situation 1
Walking normally on a hard surface
The shoe heel enters into contact with the walking surface. The impact is of low intensity. The low-density Softane™ layer is compressed and absorbs all of the excess energy.
Situation 2
Walking quickly on a hard surface
The excess energy is absorbed by: the Softane™ comfort layer the flexible walls of the shock absorber the compression of air locked in the air cavity
Situation 3
Jumping down from a low height (from the step plate of a lorry or heavy construction machinery)
The excess energy is absorbed by: the Softane™ comfort layer the flexible walls of the shock absorber the compression of air locked in the air cavity the parallel flexible strips of the absorber
