Initially intended as a response to the growth in Jallatte 's production capacity requirements, the Alès site now specialises in the production of dual-density Softane™ and Triftane™, based round 4 flexible manufacturing cells. Over the years it has become a centre of excellence in the field of polymer injection.

With its three carroussels, it has a daily production rate of 2500 pairs of Auda boots. The injection process used enables the combination of several qualities of PVC and safety features in order to produce a complete range of boots. There is an assembly workshop producing about 120 pairs of PVC waders and coveralls per day. Products are quality-controlled and packaged in 2 lines and dispatched to the Alès depot.

The BCS Tannery (France, Haute Savoie) |
 |
Quality being Jallatte 's abiding concern, the Group bought up the BCS tannery, one of the oldest in France. Set up on a 11,000 m2 site, highly automated, and fitted with modern, high-performance equipment, it treats 400,000 square feet of bovine leather per month.
To overcome pollution problems, in 1987, BCS joined up with 2 other French tanneries to create a pre-tanning unit for the river and tanning work. This wet-environment workshop has a capacity of 70 tonnes per day, which requires a large quantity of water. An ultramodern physico-chemical and biological water treatment plant, equivalent to a water treatment facility for 100,000 inhabitants, recovers and processes all the waste, so that the water put back into the river is of drinking-water quality.
BCS essentially produces sides of full grain and nubuck leather of various types for safety, sports and hiking footwear, together with butt leather for mountain, fire-fighting and army boots.
Part of its production is used for belts and fine leather goods. All BCS leather complies with European standards. The tannery also specialises in supplying leather for extremely precise requirements.
Monthly production: 400,000 square feet of bovine leather.
