Football hard man turned Hollywood actor Vinnie Jones has had a little help from Jallatte during the filming of the latest celebrity DIY series from ITV1.
The Former Wimbledon and Wales hardman who made a successful leap from football pitch to filmset, appearing in the box office successes Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Gone in 60 Seconds, will be seen turning his hand to DIY in the latest series of ‘With a Little Help From My Friends’.
Along with a group of his former school friends, the former FA Cup winner will be seen wearing Jallatte® safety footwear to help refurbish a community centre in London for underprivileged children.
But before letting Vinne and his former school mates loose on the development site, ITV1 bosses asked Jallatte® to step in to help protect the feet of everyone taking part.
Having assessed the type of conditions and likely hazards that would be encountered during the filming, Jallatte® despatched 53 pairs from its rugged J-Escape™ range to London.
A spokesman for ITV1 said that it was important that everyone on film was seen wearing the right type of equipment.
“There are some building and DIY programmes where you see people on what are effectively building sites or working with cement without the right type of protective clothing. When you are dealing with a celebrity - especially one that is a Hollywood star - and his friends, you need to make sure they are properly protected against any hazards.
“As well as ensuring that Vinnie and his school friends were provided with the right type of safety footwear whilst working on site, it was also important that the footwear looked good.
“We searched on the internet to find the right equipment and came across Jallatte®. When we looked at the products they produced we knew they would do the job - both in terms of physical protection and style,” he said.
According to Paul Hamer as soon as ITV1 mentioned Vinnie Jones and a construction site, there was only one product that would fit the bill.
“When you are dealing with a hard man like Vinnie Jones working in a tough environment like a construction site then J-Escape™ really is the only option,” said Paul.
